Some very good tips for the new supervisor at Work Awesome - Management Tips for New Supervisors . The one thing that I would add is to get to know other supervisors across the organisation - your job is to help bind the organisation not just look after your team.

Steve Prothero: Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia; My strength as a coach is my deep interest in working with others to help them reach their potential. I have strong academic qualifications in management; and 30 years experience in the workplace –10 years as a community Police Officer in the Australian Federal Police in Canberra and over 20 years in management roles within the ACT and Commonwealth public service. I am a Senior Executive Service officer and have a BA in public administration, an MBA (Exec.) from the Australian Graduate School of Management and I am an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management. I am currently undertaking the Results (Results Coaching Systems) Certificate of Professional Coaching which is a package for of training to gain either the ICF Associate Certified Coach or Professional Certified Coach Credential. The package includes: Intensive Coach Training and 5 x Continuing Education Programs and 2 x Specialist Education Programs, plus the Stage 2 Assessment and Final Exam. I commenced this training in 2010 and have completed the Intensive Coach Training and the Executive Coach modules
